Overview
This is a permanent role based in East Surrey partnering with Surrey Healthy Schools to promote healthy behaviours and support schools in responding to substance use concerns among students.
Responsibilities
* Act as a dedicated resource to promote healthy behaviours and support schools in responding to substance use concerns/incidents among students.
* Coordinate and oversee partnership working between Catch22 and Surrey Healthy Schools.
* Contribute to the Health, Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Services for Surrey Schools.
* Assist in the development of policies and guidelines relating to health and substance use including PSHE.
* Proactively and, where appropriate, reactively respond to incidents involving substance use and provide staff training using a strengths‑based and trauma‑informed approach.
* Offer an initial triage service and assessment for young people up to the age of 18, via direct contact or through professionals, parents and carers.
Qualifications & Experience
* NVQ3 Health & Social Care or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., substance use, youth work studies, counselling, criminal justice, SENCO).
* Specialist knowledge of alcohol/substance use and associated risks and effects.
* Ability to engage with and build effective working relationships with a range of partners and stakeholders.
* Experience delivering service presentations and training to professionals and partners.
* Transferable experience in education roles such as SENCO, school nurse, or designated safeguarding lead.
Requirements
* Up-to-date driving licence, access to vehicle, MOT, and business insurance.
* Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check required.
Benefits & Working Conditions
* Salary up to £29,192.34 (pro‑rated from £32,000 full time).
* Full time, 37 hours per week, Term‑time only (41 weeks per year).

* Main office in Leatherhead; travel within Surrey and occasional travel around the UK.
