Generative artificial intelligence (AI) describes algorithms that can be used to produce new content, including audio, code, images, text, simulations, and videos. There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Midwife to join the Women's and Children's Research Unit. This is a fulltime permanent Band 6 role. The role is suited to those with clinical research delivery experience. The research Midwife will be delivering a portfolio of reproductive health studies/clinical trials including complex maternity; maternal health and gynaecology trials. The post holder will also work in collaboration with the Neonatal research nurse offering support to NICU based studies in St Michaels Hospital .

As part of the wider unit they will also contribute to other activities of the research midwife team under direction of the senior nursing team.

The clinical research midwife is expected to support the management and delivery of clinical trials. They will have knowledge and understanding of the regulatory and legal frameworks related to the planning, undertaking and closure of clinical research studies and therefore act as a resource for staff, researchers, research participants and patients. They will take a lead in ensuring the safe, effective, and patient facing delivery of clinical research studies. They will be an experienced midwife, competent in clinical skills and therefore able to deliver the required study procedures.

1. Study set-up and ongoing study conduct including recruiting of participants, receiving informed consent, coordinating sample collection, processing and storage, data collection and follow up of participants as required
2. Mutual support of members of the research team and clinical colleague across maternity; gynaecology and neonatal services
3. Promotion of research activity and inclusion
4. Education of clinical staff and research colleagues
5. Ensuring optimal participant experience
