Overview
We are seeking to appoint a non-standard Admissions Officer to support the School’s non-standard admissions activities required for healthcare courses, including the organisation of interview schedules, and attending interview days providing key support. You will undertake a range of entry criteria processes, ensuring they are undertaken in a timely and satisfactory manner - including DBS, Occupational Health Screening, Immunisations and uniform provision. You will liaise with various stakeholders on a regular basis. You will also support the wider Student Education / Experience team. This post requires an assured team player who can manage their time and ensure that the admissions service is responsive and efficient. You will have a flexible, confident and enthusiastic approach to work. Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy, particularly in areas of data processing are essential, as are good IT skills. Excellent organisation skills are required as the role involves organising and coordinating activities during Multiple Mini Interviews for applicants.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Support the effective delivery of all administrative activities in relation to non-standard admissions activities across a range of school programmes (including apprenticeships as required) and CPD modules.
* Organise interview activities across the School for non-standard recruitment (including MMI’s etc...), attending and providing support on the interview days which includes some weekend working.
* Host external interviewers, prepare documentation and co-ordinate moving students between rooms during MMIs
* Act as a first point of contact for prospective students. Provide information, advice and guidance on all matters related to admissions to programmes.
* Assess UCAS applications using a range of criteria, making recommendations on decisions to be made, as required.
* Organise and facilitate online pre-interview briefings for applicants.
* Liaising with the Patients as Educators Teams to recruit and train Patients as Educators for interview days.
* Work closely with Admission Tutors to ensure applications are processed in a timely manner.
* Analyse non-standard recruitment and admissions data and provide management information reports to Admissions Tutors.
* Co-ordinate the recruitment of external stakeholders for interview days, and ensure each panel also has sufficient internal colleagues to support the interviews.
* Provide reports on the School’s usage of funding from NHSE and other external commissioners for a range of programmes and modules.
* Support a range of entry criteria processes including DBS applications, Student Uniforms, Occupational Health Screening and Immunisations of healthcare students, ensuring accurate records are kept.
* Support the organisation of open days, conferences and other events, attending as required which includes some weekend working.
* Service School committee meetings and any other meetings as required. Request agenda items, prepare and circulate the agenda and papers, prepare and circulate minutes and provide follow up on actions.
* Liaise with the central MARC team on admission processes.
* Provide cover for the School’s reception as required.
* Undertake other activities as required to ensure that all administrative activities within the department are carried out in a timely and efficient manner, providing cover for colleagues in the administrative team.
* Carry out other duties, commensurate with the grade and remit of the post.
Person Specification
Essential criteria include experience in a secretarial/clerical/PA capacity; ability to manage and prioritise work; excellent written and verbal communication; strong customer service; excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Drive); ability to develop creative problem solving and to analyse and solve problems; ability to work to a high degree of accuracy; confident and professional manner with discretion and confidentiality; educated to A level or equivalent; ability to work weekends when interview days/open days occur.

Salary: £27,319 - £31,236 (potential to increase to £33,951)
