SENCO – September Start
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join a successful secondary school from September in Reading. We are looking for a passionate, organised, and forward-thinking SEND practitioner who is committed to ensuring every student can access an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will:
* Lead the strategic development of the school’s SEND provision
* Oversee the identification and assessment of students with additional needs
* Coordinate targeted interventions and whole-school inclusion strategies
* Support teachers to deliver high-quality, adaptive classroom practice
* Manage EHCP processes and maintain accurate SEND documentation
* Build strong relationships with families, staff, and external agencies
* Champion an environment where all learners can flourish
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it)
* Strong understanding of SEND legislation and effective SEND practice
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable learners
