The Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator role at Avery Healthcare focuses on providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate residents' physical, psychological, and social well-being. The role also involves promoting the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfilment for all residents.


Main duties of the job

As the Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator, your responsibilities will include identifying residents' life history, needs, and preferences; planning and submitting monthly activity and wellbeing plans; arranging activities and events; and maintaining a safe living and working environment. Previous experience working with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting, along with expertise in organizing activities, effective communication skills, and a positive attitude towards older people, are required.

Job description

Your focus as Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator will be to provide a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate residents' physical, psychological, and social well-being, and to understand the need to promote the philosophy of privacy, dignity, independence, choice, rights, and fulfilment for all residents.

Other responsibilities include:

* Identifying residents' life history, needs, and preferences by listening to them and their families to support the development of a detailed life story.
* Planning and submitting monthly activity and wellbeing plans and weekly overviews to the Home Manager.
* Arranging activities, events, and outings, encouraging involvement from staff, relatives, and visitors.
* Maintaining a safe environment and contributing to the positive image of the home.


About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

* Experience working with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting.
* Experience organizing activities and events.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* A positive attitude towards older people and a commitment to providing stimulating activities and social events.


Additional requirements

This role requires:

* An ADBS Disclosure check, with costs covered by Avery Healthcare.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
