Role Overview
Infrastructure Engineer – Networking
Location: Epsom & Barbican, London. Hybrid working model. Fixed‑term contract until the end of 2026. Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of network‑focused projects by carrying out configuration, implementation tasks and technical changes aligned to agreed designs.
* Execute project activities under the guidance of architects and senior engineers, rather than making design decisions or providing day‑to‑day operational support.
* Assist with any technical work related to the assigned projects, ensuring changes are delivered accurately, securely and to a high standard.
* Apply modern networking practices such as automation, infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration‑as‑code as directed by the wider engineering team.
* Interact with project managers to agree enterprise‑wide solution designs and plan the implementation across central and multi‑region estates.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable hands‑on experience with Cisco switching, including configuration, patching and network maintenance activities within enterprise environments.
* Strong working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, including rule management, policy changes and general firewall administration.
* Experience with SD‑WAN technologies, including SilverPeak and PaloAlto SD‑WAN solutions.
* Hands‑on experience with enterprise wireless networks, including configuration and maintenance of Aruba WiFi solutions.
* Solid understanding of network security principles, segmentation and secure connectivity across LAN/WLAN/WAN environments.
* Ability to carry out technical changes and project tasks in line with agreed designs, working closely with architects and senior engineers.
* Proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving network issues related to project delivery.
* Experience working within structured change and project environments, following best practices and established engineering standards.
* Desire to maintain high engineering standards and collaborate effectively within a wider delivery team.
* Willingness to drive high standards and practices, and to coach and mentor other engineers.
* Passion for debugging, analysing and resolving issues strategically, and continuously improving solutions.
* Experience with configuration and change management, incident and problem resolution, and evolving endpoint solutions based on modern infrastructure standards, including automation, observability and continuous deployment.
