Base pay range
Our client is a rapidly growing engineering business that designs, builds, and installs bespoke industrial plants for customers across the globe. They are a true leader in their field, supplying innovative and sustainable engineering solutions to clients in several countries around the world.
They are now seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join their team and play a key role in designing, programming, and commissioning PLC-based control systems for complex engineering projects.
The Role
* Programming and developing PLC control systems, predominantly using Siemens and Omron
* Designing and modifying control architecture, including wiring diagrams, line diagrams, and panel specifications
* Assisting in control panel design, component selection, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
* Developing HMI and SCADA systems for plant operation and monitoring
* Performing fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on control systems, both remotely and on-site
* Commissioning new plant installations in the UK and internationally
* Creating and maintaining technical documentation including control logic diagrams and software specifications
* Providing technical support to customers and field engineers
The Person
* 5+ years’ experience in PLC programming and control systems engineering
* Strong knowledge of Siemens and Omron PLCs
* Skilled in reading and creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
* Experience with HMI and SCADA programming
* Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of working independently
* Willing to travel in the UK and overseas
* Full UK driving licence and valid passport required
* CCNSG or CSCS card advantageous
