Job Title: Commissioning Manager - Mechanical

What you’ll be doing:
1. Provide support and delegate for the Senior Commissioning Manager Strategic Weapons Systems (SWS) - Mechanical
2. Integration of multidiscipline commissioning teams, resolution of engineering conflicts between disciplines, systems and capabilities
3. Liaise with Operations Management as appropriate to ensure collaborative working to deliver the installation/ test programme
4. Support to Strategic Weapon Test Group (SWTG), UK/ US Technical Exchanges, Working Groups and other key meetings
5. Interface with Strategic Weapon Organisation Engineering Team to resolve technical issues
6. Develop and maintain relationships with MoD customer and US Department of Defence (DOD SSP) and their contractors to meet customer requirements, and lead in resolution of major issues
7. Ensure the Project Plan is implemented through business tools to enable conduct in the Shipyard
8. Represent the Company on Contractors Sea Trials and other outworking requirements
Your skills and experiences:
Essential
9. HNC Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent Experience
10. Strong engineering background with Test and Commissioning experience
Desirable
11. Degree in Mechanical or associated discipline
12. Chartered Engineer (or working towards)
13. Knowledge of the Shipyard Installation Test Programme, its phases and associated documentation
14. Knowledge of Strategic Weapon operations and procedural adherence
15. Good understanding of the SWS/ SWSS mechanical systems beneficial

The Ship Installation Test Programme Team:
As a member of the Strategic Weapon Test Organisation, you will help manage the delivery of the Shipyard Installation Test Programme (SITP) for the Dreadnought class Submarines. You will be responsible for supporting the Senior Commissioning Manager SWS - Mechanical. You will have the opportunity to integrate with multidisciplined teams and liaise with both internal and external customers.
