Base Location: Within the Sloy Awe Section at Clachan, Inverawe or Sloy Power Stations, Argyll & Bute
Salary: £58,630 - £68,098 depending on skills and experience + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role
As part of the Sloy Awe Section Hydro Maintenance Engineering team, you'll be accountable for the delivery of a wide range of Control & Instrumentation (C&I) operational, maintenance and project work.
You will
1. Maintain, test and defect resolution of SCADA, PLC, Protection and Excitation Systems associated with Large Rotating Plant, HV Electrical Systems including SIL rated control systems and associated infrastructure.
2. Oversee and upkeep the Maintenance Management System at the heart of the Hydro Asset Integrity strategy within defined areas of responsibility.
3. Provide technical support to other stakeholders including first responders, project teams and remote-control room staff.
4. Identify, manage and implement plant reliability and upgrade projects.
5. Attain and uphold a high-level Safe Systems of Work authorisation, which enables the identification and control of system hazards and the issuance of safety documents to self and/or others.
You have
1. A strong knowledge, understanding and experience of C & I systems, engineering plant and apparatus relevant to hydro generation and the associated infrastructure.
2. A high level of motivation and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently, and the confidence to challenge inconsistencies professionally.
3. A Degree Level qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline; other qualifications will be considered based on knowledge, skills and experience.
4. A thorough understanding of Safe System of Work principles, health and safety regulations, and the ability to attain and maintain a high-level Safe System of Work authorisation.
5. Advanced problem-solving skills, with a practical, logical mindset and aptitude for written analysis.
Note: A driving license is essential as travel to different sites will be required.
