We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist contractor delivering groundworks, reinforcedconcreteand structural alteration packages across the Southeast, withan office basedinSurrey.
The business was formed during Covid by an experienced industry professional with a strong background in delivering complex structural schemes. Despite beingrelatively new, the company has already secured a solid pipeline of work andoperateswith a highly experienced senior leadership team.
The successful candidate will take commercial responsibility for a technical challenge, involving extensive groundworks, RC works and structural alterations, delivered under a JCT contract. This isa great opportunityto join a growing contractor at an early stage and play a key role in its continued development.
Role Overview
As a Quantity Surveyor, you willbe responsible forthe commercial management of the project from site mobilisation through to final account.
This is a contractor side role working under JCT forms of contract, requiring close collaboration with site and delivery teams. You will report directly into the Commercial Director and will have real autonomy, influence and visibility within the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial management of groundworks, reinforcedconcreteand structural alteration packages
* Cost forecasting, CVRs, valuations and cash flow management
* Preparation and submission of applications for payment
* Managing variations, change control and final accounts
* Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors and suppliers
* Supporting site teams with commercial reporting and risk management
About You
This role is ideally suited to a Quantity Surveyor with strong groundworks experience, who enjoys working closely with site teams and managing complex packages on live projects.
You will ideally have:
* Reinforced concrete experience (preferred)
* Experience with structural alterations (highly desirable)
* Solid understanding of JCT contracts
* Confidence managing projects independently from a commercial perspective
