Offer description

How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full-time pay.

Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So, whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.

Job title: SEN Unqualified Teacher
Location: Smallbrook School, Shrewsbury, SY4 3HE
Salary: £29,400.00 to £36,750.00 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:45am – 4:15pm
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: January 2026
UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.

Smallbrook School is growing — and we’re excited to offer a standout opportunity for an inspiring, compassionate and dedicated SEN Unqualified Teacher to join our close-knit team.

Here, every day is meaningful. You’ll be part of a supportive, energetic environment where your creativity, care and commitment help transform the lives of young people with special educational needs.

About the Role

Whether you’re a qualified teacher or someone eager to work toward QTS, this could be the perfect next step in your teaching career.

You’ll deliver high-quality, personalised education that inspires progress, builds confidence, and empowers each learner to thrive — all in line with School and Company policies, best practice, and regulatory standards.

Key Task Areas and Responsibilities

* Plan, deliver, and teach individual pupils or small groups in accordance with the school’s curriculum framework and related policies
* Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress
* Contribute to and help implement school developments linked to the School Development Plan
* Promote the physical, educational, and moral development of pupils in line with Company policies
* Support the creation and implementation of tailored learning programmes that ensure appropriate and sustained progression

* Organise the classroom environment, resources, groupings, and displays to create a stimulating and inclusive learning setting
* Plan adequately for pupil safety, applying risk assessments for on-site and off-site activities

Who We’re Looking For

You’re someone who brings passion, creativity, and enthusiasm into every lesson. You believe in every child’s potential — and you know how to bring out their very best.

You will:

* Hold QTS (desirable) or be willing to work towards gaining it
* Have experience supporting pupils with autism, SEMH, learning difficulties, or complex needs
* Communicate with confidence, clarity, and empathy
* Be flexible, solution-focused, and committed to personalised learning approaches
