Role Overview We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Pre-Construction Estimating Manager to lead the pre-construction process. This role blends strong commercial acumen with relationship-driven business development, ensuring our bids not only meet client expectations but also stand out through value, professionalism, and clarity. You will be responsible for identifying new project opportunities, strengthening existing relationships, and preparing accurate, competitive tender submissions. This is a highly visible role that supports our goal of winning more high-quality work with fewer blind tenders, driving sustained growth through repeat business and strategic targeting. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Client Engagement (Approx. 30%) Re-engage with previous clients and contacts to explore repeat opportunities. Actively build relationships with decision-makers within target companies. Organize and attend face-to-face meetings, networking events, and industry functions. Leverage tools like hot-desking, client visits, and updated company literature to enhance visibility. Track and reconnect with former contacts who have moved companies. Identify alignment opportunities with new clients based on our service capabilities. Estimating & Tendering(Approx. 70%) Prepare competitive, accurate tenders with attention to detail, pricing, and compliance. Submit tenders reflecting a proactive and professional approach. Tailor each submission to reflect project-specific insights, methodologies, and value-added solutions. Collaborate with internal teams to assemble supporting documentation such as case studies, risk assessments, and credentials. Ensure all tender content is clear, concise, grammatically accurate, and client-focused. Required Skills and Experience Proven experience in pre-construction and estimating within the internal fit-outsubcontracting sector. Demonstrable success in client engagement and securing repeat business. Strong understanding of tendering processes and commercial awareness. Proficient in using Causeway Estimating software or equivalent (e.g., Conquest, Candy, Excel-based systems). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust quickly. Detail-oriented with strong organisational and document presentation abilities. Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-driven. Desirable Attributes Network of industry contacts and existing client relationships. Experience producing high-quality proposals that include value engineering or innovative delivery strategies. Familiarity with client pre-qualification systems and supply chain platforms.
