Job location: Bolton, England, United Kingdom. Salary and benefits are described in the sections below.
What you’ll be doing
As a Commercial Property Claims Handler, you’ll be responsible for managing all claims relating to commercial property. Working alongside the wider claims functions, including Casualty and Motor Engineering, you’ll contribute to the strategic objectives of AXA Commercial while helping customers protect what matters most to them. If you have a natural ability to relate to people and are passionate about delivering excellent customer service, you could be a great fit.
Working Hours & Shift Pattern: Full time, 35 hours per week over 5 days, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
Training: You’ll receive a comprehensive onsite induction from our specialist trainers. You will join an academy with eight weeks of dedicated training to ensure you are fully supported in your new role, delivered onsite at our Bolton office.
Following training, you’ll transition to a hybrid working model: at least two days per week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Typically, you should expect to start working in a hybrid model around the 6-month mark, depending on individual development.
What you’ll be doing
* Ensure each customer feels valued and supported with their claim, providing personalised and accurate information.
* Stay composed and level-headed when faced with challenges to effectively assist customers during their most critical moments.
* Take proactive measures and use available resources to achieve the best possible outcome for each customer, addressing their specific needs related to their incident or claim.
* Investigate and gather evidence to help bring each claim to the point of conclusion.
* Respond promptly to calls with a strong focus on accuracy and timely completion of case notes, logs and diaries.
* Recognise signs of fraudulent claims and refer for further investigation where needed.
What you’ll bring
* Exceptional customer service experience. If you come from a customer-facing role, hospitality, or retail background, this could be a great opportunity for a career change.
* Willingness to use provided technology and training; enthusiasm for customer service and building relationships over the phone and on computer.
* Natural talent for connecting with people, quick problem-solving ability, and a positive, can-do attitude dealing with various stakeholders including claimant lawyers, customers and brokers.
* Strong listening skills, confident telephone communication, and computer proficiency.
* A passion for working as part of a collaborative team.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position is defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role; therefore, in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
