Salary: £39,605.59 per annum
With an increased offering of Business programmes and ongoing programme developments, Strathclyde International Study Centre is looking to expand their Business team with a full-time Business and Finance and/or Economics Tutor. We seek a dynamic, engaging, and creative tutor eager to apply and develop their teaching skills and subject knowledge. Collaboration and a positive contribution to the Centre are essential.
You will collaborate with colleagues across the Centre and potentially across the Study Group network to ensure effective delivery of teaching programmes aligned with our teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
As a tutor, you will contribute to designing, developing, and producing teaching and learning materials, and participate in new product development across various Business modules at postgraduate and undergraduate levels. Supervising students on our Pre-Master’s programmes is also expected.
Responsibilities include supporting students directly, developing and implementing innovative teaching practices, and committing to continuous professional development, especially regarding the use of technology in education both inside and outside the classroom.
About the Role
1. Prepare and deliver teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including lectures, tutorials, and one-to-one supervision.
2. Design, deliver, and assess coursework and examinations, ensuring deadlines are met.
3. Mark assessments and provide timely feedback, including writing student reports.
4. Contribute to module design, delivery, and development.
5. Maintain module pages on the University of Strathclyde’s Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle).
6. Assist with induction, orientation, and registration activities.
7. Coordinate with colleagues to support student welfare and progression.
8. Track student progress and implement intervention strategies.
9. Participate in student support procedures, including meetings.
10. Follow centre protocols and liaise with colleagues on compliance matters.
11. Implement quality assurance procedures and contribute to course reviews.
12. Maintain accurate records of attendance and performance.
13. Attend quality assurance and team meetings.
14. Engage in training and development activities.
15. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
About You
* A Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, or Business.
* A relevant teaching qualification or progress towards one; experience may be accepted as an alternative.
* Fluent in spoken and written English.
* Experience teaching Economics and/or Finance, preferably in UK higher or further education.
* Experience teaching international students is desirable but not essential.
