About the School
A specialist SEMH school in Salford is seeking a committed Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. The school supports children and young people who have experienced permanent exclusion, social, emotional, and mental health challenges, and other complex needs. Staff work collaboratively to create a structured, nurturing environment that helps pupils rebuild confidence, develop emotional regulation, and make strong academic progress.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Provide individual and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
* Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes and intervention strategies.
* Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and social skills.
* Implement positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
* Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teachers and the pastoral team.
* Collaborate with therapists, pastoral staff, and teachers to support holistic pupil development.
* Occasionally cover class teacher duties to ensure continuity of learning.
What You Need
* Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
* Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, including those at risk of exclusion.
* Understanding of behaviour management and inclusive education strategies.
* Empathy, patience, and resilience in challenging situations.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
