My client in Surrey have continuously developed and extended their actuator and associated control equipment manufacture to countries all over the world. Operating broadly in sectors including petrochemical, pharmecutucal, oil and gas and water.
Through growth, they are looking for a Manufacturing/Production engineer (CNC Milling bias) to join their large manufacturing team.
Job Overview:
Disect a drawing for a new part, specify what tooling is required, decide on workholding, machine a fixture, and then program and prove out the job for manufacturing.
Working Hours: (Apply online only) Mon-Thu, (Apply online only) Fri. Overtime available at 1.25x on weekdays, 1.5x on Saturdays, and 2x on Sundays.
Duties
- Problem solving and Continuous improvement within manufacturing.
- Programming jobs from drawings.
- Assisting with fixture concept design and manufacture.
- Selection of tooling for machining.
- Proving out jobs once programming is complete.
- Liaising with maintenance, contractors and assisting with production.
- Assist with selection of new machine tools and equipment.
Experience
Milling – Conventional & CNC (must) - 3 and 4 axis mills, a mix of horizontals and verticals.
Turning – Conventional & CNC (must) - A number of twin spindle, twin turret driven tool lathes.
Automation
Measuring equipment
NC programming - Ideally having experience programming at the machines with Fanuc/Heidenhain controls or at least familiarity with the set-up and operating.
CAD/CAM - Ideally having experience with Edgecam, but willing to consider other transferrable CAM systems and offline programming.
