Mechanical Engineer
Colindale – £43,000 per year
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Colindale. The role involves carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across client sites, ensuring systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with statutory and client requirements. The role will also support the Account Manager with service delivery and occasional cover across other sites as required.
Key Tasks
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical systems, including boilers, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, pumps, and valves
• Perform plant room inspections and monitor system performance
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001 Quality Management System and manage QHSE responsibilities on site
• Respond to mechanical breakdowns and faults, prioritising and resolving issues efficiently
• Ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out in line with schedules and industry standards
• Supervise specialist contractors where required, ensuring work is completed to contract standards
• Formulate, assess, and validate risk assessments and method statements
• Attend monthly client meetings to review contract performance and participate in team meetings
• Ensure staff training and competency requirements are maintained
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all mechanical works
• Be accessible for out-of-hours queries to support operations
• Assist in implementing operational processes to improve efficiency and service delivery
Decision Making & Budgetary Control
• Report to the Account Manager
• Make decisions in line with completing key tasks and objectives set by the Contract Manager
