Trainee Teacher Opportunity at GLF Schools
GLF is a Multi-Academy Trust of 43 schools that provides Education in the Early Years, Primary, and Secondary phases across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey, West Sussex and the London Boroughs of Wandsworth and Croydon.

About the Role:
We are excited to offer aspiring teachers a fantastic opportunity to join GLFs Trainee Teacher Programme in partnership with Inspiring Future Teachers. As part of our GLF Schools Teacher Training Hub, youll receive exceptional training, support, and a choice of training routes, from our employment-based routes, where your salary and training fees are funded, to our fee-funded routes, where you could pay for trainee fees by a student loan, or potentially receive a tax-free training bursary.
As a trainee at GLF, you'll be part of a supportive team where your professional development, well-being, and workload will be prioritised. You'll gain hands-on experience in various school settings that work for you, including GLFs nurseries and primary and secondary schools within our Trust.
Qualifications:
To be eligible for this teacher training route, you will have the following qualifications:
A degree awarded by a UK higher education provider or a recognised equivalent qualification. (For Secondary courses, at least 50% of your degree will be in the subject you wish to teach.)
Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, and (Science for Primary routes only)
Demonstrate you hold the right to work and study in the UK and have been a resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years.
A Degree 2:2 or above (may accept a 3rd class degree in particular circumstances.)
For some employment-based training routes, some school experience will be required, alongside a school that offers an employment contract.
Stage 2 of the application process is that you will need to complete a DfE application form to train to teach and pass all criteria of the Initial Teacher Training provider.
Funding/Salary:
GLF offer funded training routes, with a fixed-term, full-time contract, 32.5 hours a week on an Unqualified teacher scale for specific candidates in specific routes.
GLF also offer unpaid training routes, with candidates able to apply for a Tuition Fee Loans to cover the following course fees.
Course Fees
Full time fee-funded (QTS + PGCE): ~ £9,535 total. If you opt out of the PGCE, the cost is approximately £9,035.
Part-time course (over two years): Year 1: £7,145; Year 2: £4,762. PGCE is not available for this route.
Salaried route: The QTS tuition fee is paid by the employing school, with the PGCE, offered at an extra £500, which the trainee must pay.
Postgraduate Teacher Apprenticeships with course fees at £9,000, which can be funded by the school/employers levy pot for eligible candidates.
Maintenance loans of around £13,000 to help with living costs for some candidates
Some secondary subjects also come with a tax-free bursary paid by the Department for Education.
