As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Assistant Operations / Cleaning Manager to support our operations team and ensure smooth, efficient service delivery.
About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, technical knowledge of cleaning equipment, and a passion for maintaining high standards. You will assist in managing day-to-day cleaning operations, oversee equipment and stock, train staff, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cleaning Operations
* Supervise daily cleaning activities across multiple sites.
* Ensure compliance with company standards and health & safety regulations.
* Conduct regular site audits and implement improvements.
* Develop and manage cleaning schedules and allocate tasks effectively.
2. Equipment & Technical Management
* Maintain and troubleshoot cleaning equipment (scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers).
* Schedule regular servicing and ensure compliance with safety standards.
* Train staff on correct equipment use and safety protocols.
3. Warehouse & Stock Control
* Organise and maintain cleaning supplies and consumables.
* Monitor inventory levels and place timely orders to prevent shortages.
* Ensure proper stock rotation, labelling, and storage.
4. Fleet Monitoring
* Oversee cleaning vehicle usage, maintenance, and compliance.
* Track fuel consumption, mileage, and service intervals.
5. Staff Training & Development
* Deliver onboarding and ongoing training for cleaning staff.
* Develop training materials for cleaning methods, equipment use, and safety.
* Monitor staff performance and provide feedback for improvement.
6. Audits & Reporting
* Conduct regular operational audits and document findings.
* Prepare reports for senior management and recommend improvements.
7. Project Management
* Assist in planning and delivering new cleaning projects and contracts.
* Coordinate resources, timelines, and budgets for project execution.
* Liaise with clients to ensure project requirements are met.
* Monitor progress and resolve operational challenges promptly.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a cleaning supervisor or assistant manager role.
* Strong technical knowledge of cleaning equipment and maintenance.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse team.
* Knowledge of health & safety regulations and audit processes.
* Full UK driving licence preferred.
