Here is an exciting opportunity for newly qualified (or soon to be newly qualified) speech & language therapist.
We want a motivated and enthusiastic NQT, or a person who is returning to the profession after a break, to work as an integrated member of our acute speech & language therapy team in assessing and managing patients with acquired disorders of communication and /or swallowing, rotating between both acute ward settings and our Acute Stroke Unit.
Responsibilities
* Assess and manage patients with acquired disorders of communication and swallowing.
* Provide SALT assessment, therapy and management to a range of patients.
* Work in rotation between acute wards and our Acute Stroke Unit alongside band 5 colleagues.
* Follow evidence‑based practice and seek help and support from the wider team as needed.
* Access regular supervision and support to progress professional and clinical development.
* Proactively pursue external training opportunities to become an excellent therapist.
* Maintain a flexible and friendly approach to patients, the team and the wider professional group.
Development Opportunities
* Support and development opportunities to enhance theoretical knowledge and clinical skills to complete NQT competencies.
* Complete basic level (C) dysphagia competencies over 6‑12 months through supervision, observation, supported learning and training.
Eligibility
* Newly qualified or soon to be newly qualified speech & language therapist (NQT).
* Alternatively, a professional returning to the field after a break.
