This is an exciting opportunity to join a modern, inclusive team that sits at the heart of public service delivery. This role is with the Office for National Statistics via AMS.
Responsibilities
* Carry out official surveys as a Field Interviewer, helping to inform Government about the state of the nation.
* Visit sampled addresses to encourage survey completion and interview respondents in their homes.
* Plan, organise and manage your own workload with full training and support provided.
* Work across mornings, afternoons and evenings, with interviews conducted between 09:00 – 20:00 and potential for admin and travel time outside these hours.
* Work outside an office base within a roughly 40-mile radius of an allocated location; travel and scheduling are arranged to fit contracted hours.
* Transport and carry equipment (e.g., laptop and survey materials) and navigate between addresses as required.
Requirements
* Be within a 10-mile radius of the location and able to travel to addresses within a 40-mile radius from the advertised location.
* Hours are to be split across mornings, afternoons and evenings, with flexibility to work on Saturdays if required.
* Experience using a laptop and a smartphone; self-disciplined, self-motivated, and able to work without supervision.
* Excellent verbal communication skills and enjoyment in meeting and talking to people.
* Full valid UK Driving Licence (inclusive of EU Nationals rights) and full use of a car for work purposes including business use; ability to transport equipment.
* Provide Proof of Identity and a broadband internet connection at your home address prior to taking up employment.
* Meet UK immigration requirements and Civil Service eligibility rules.
* Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks and a criminal record check will be required.
Training: The role will start with five weeks of comprehensive training to ensure success in the role.
