A council near Kent is urgently seeking a qualified Food Safety Consultant to carry out 600 paid food hygiene inspections of C-D rated premises. This is a flexible opportunity, open to both full-time and part-time professionals (minimum 21 hours/week), with an immediate start available. Key Responsibilities Conduct statutory food hygiene inspections in accordance with the FSA Code of Practice Assess and rate food premises based on hygiene standards and risk Submit accurate and timely inspection reports to the council Liaise with food business operators and escalate enforcement actions if required Maintain professional standards and contribute to public health protection Essential Requirements Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent Registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or equivalent Must meet the FSA's Competent Person criteria for food hygiene inspections CPD-compliant and up-to-date with current food safety legislation Previous experience conducting inspections for local authorities Strong understanding of food law, HACCP, and risk-based inspection methodology Why Apply?
