Our in-house capabilities allow us to deliver precision-engineered components and bespoke solutions to a wide range of industries. We're now looking to expand our team by bringing on a highly motivated Trainee Production Operative who is keen to develop a career in engineering.
Job Description:
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has recently attended college and is looking to take their first steps into the engineering and manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will be given full training across all areas of our production facility, gaining hands-on experience and working alongside skilled engineers and technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in the day-to-day operations across different departments, including fabrication, machining, polyurethane tooling, and water jet cutting.
· Learn to operate various machinery, including conventional and CNC machines
· Support experienced operators with production tasks and equipment set-up.
· Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with health & safety policies.
· Participate in ongoing training and development programmes.
· Help with basic quality checks to ensure finished components meet required standards ISO9001.
· Follow work instructions and complete production documentation accurately.
· Shadow senior team members to gain practical knowledge and insight into all engineering processes.
Personal Specification:
Essential:
· Recently attended or completed a college-level course in engineering, manufacturing, or a related discipline.
· Willingness to learn and develop new skills across a range of engineering processes.
· Good communication and teamwork skills.
· Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
· Reliable, punctual, and committed to a long-term career in engineering.
· Basic understanding of health and safety in a workshop environment.
Desirable:
· Familiarity with any of the following: CNC machining, fabrication, CAD, or workshop / Hand tools.
· Hands-on workshop or project experience from college coursework.
