We have a fantastic opportunity for a Responsible Welding Coordinator to join us on a 6-month contract, working on site at TeesWorks.
Responsibilities
* Maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR) in accordance with EN 1090-2 and ISO 3834 standards.
* Oversee and coordinate all welding activities to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
* Conduct welding inspections and audits to verify adherence to WPS and WPQR requirements.
* Provide technical support and guidance to welding personnel, ensuring proper implementation of welding procedures.
* Maintain accurate records of welding procedures, qualifications, and inspections.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and quality control teams to address welding-related issues and ensure project timelines are met.
* Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in welding technology and standards.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to welding activities.
Essential Qualifications
* Certified Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE)
* Extensive experience in structural steel welding, and/or offshore wind farm industry
* In-depth knowledge of EN 1090-2, and ISO 3834 standards
* Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and techniques
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to conduct thorough inspections and audits
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with various teams
* Proficiency in using welding inspection tools and equipment
* Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field
* Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods
