Description Position: Security Officer (Tyne Dock) Location: South Shields Full Time, Permanent Salary: £28,222.60 Role Responsibilities: Ensure effective security arrangements are maintained at the Port of Tyne Ensuring that the requirements for pass security, personal and vehicle searches are carried out and comply with ISPS code and other statutory regulations. Carrying out foot and mobile patrols; CCTV surveillance and gatehouse duties. Operation of vehicle access barriers to maintain effective access and traffic control Liaising with the Marine Department in relation to the berthing and un-berthing of vessels Dealing with visitors and responding to general enquiries appropriately. Ensure equipment is maintained, including fault reporting and logging is carried out as required Completion of paperwork including logging of incidents, reporting deficiencies and damage and onward reporting as necessary. Assist with the response to incidents and emergencies and the callout of appropriate staff and emergency services. To work shift work as per current roster. This role covers 24/7 including weekends and statutory holidays.
