Macmillan Lead Nurse for Palliative Care

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated Palliative and End of Life Care Lead Nurse to provide clinical and professional leadership for our specialist palliative care service. This role will drive the development, coordination, and delivery of exceptional care, ensuring all patients facing life‑limiting illnesses and their families receive seamless, holistic, and dignified palliative and end‑of‑life support.
The Main Purpose Of This Role Is To
* Provide support to patients with specialist palliative care needs and their families, in both the hospital and community settings
* Provide strong, visible leadership and have the appropriate level of authority to offer support, advice and assistance required by patients, their families and carers. Concentrating on areas of patient safety, patient experience and clinical outcomes will be essential.
* Provide leadership, line management and operational nursing responsibility for the Palliative Care Nursing Team
Working With Consultant Colleagues In Palliative Medicine To
* Share lead clinical responsibility for Palliative and End of Life (EoL) care
* Enhance Palliative and EoL Care in HDFT and across the locality through education of healthcare professionals and implementation of evidence‑based guidelines.
* Support the organisation with service improvement initiatives in Palliative and (EoL) Care in line with the national strategy for EoLC across Harrogate and Rural District (HaRD).
