A little more about your role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join WSP's Mining & Metals business in the UK&I. The position involves technical leadership and delivery of mining hydrogeology projects internationally, supported by a multidisciplinary team. Projects span all parts of the mining life cycle, from exploration to mine closure.
What you will do:
This leadership role within the UK and Ireland Mine Water team involves technical leadership, project direction, business development, and client liaison. Your main responsibilities include:
* Deliver consulting services in hydrogeology, contaminant risk assessment, mine water management, mine waste, and environmental impact assessments to support feasibility and social impact studies.
* Provide technical expertise in mining hydrogeology.
* Lead, mentor, and collaborate with scientists, engineers, and professionals within the team to support their growth and technical excellence.
* Participate in global technical practice groups to enhance technical standards and visibility.
* Assist in project coordination, including budget, schedule, and proposal development.
* Support client relationship development and business growth efforts.
* Promote a 'safety first' attitude, adhering to health, safety, and wellbeing policies.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate:
* Experience in technical leadership, collaboration, and project delivery.
* Broad experience in mining hydrogeology across the mining cycle.
* Strong commitment to client service.
* Proven track record of delivering large, multidisciplinary projects on time and within budget.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in technical and strategic contexts.
* Master's degree in Hydrogeology or related field, with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
Desirable skills include flexibility to travel, fieldwork experience, proficiency with numerical modeling and GIS software, experience in mine closure studies, and chartered status with a relevant professional body.
