The Role
Coordinate work and manpower on board for the assigned shift in compliance with project specifications, ensuring efficient performance while adhering to HSE and Quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Offshore Construction Manager with interdisciplinary coordination of all works on board.
* Supervise foremen and supervisors across disciplines to meet quality and safety standards.
* Coordinate construction activities during the shift to optimize production.
* Keep the Offshore Construction Manager informed of issues and progress.
* Liaise with vessel officers and subcontractors to ensure maintenance and construction activities are aligned.
* Resolve coordination, priority, and interface issues among disciplines to meet project scopes.
* Ensure Permit-to-Work system adherence and conduct Toolbox Talks and JSAs as required.
* Motivate and promote health, safety, and environmental awareness among the crew and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with Saipem QHSE policies and safety procedures.
* Report incidents and near-misses.
* Manage crane operations, including coordination with the Chief Mate for main crane movements, ROV launching, and underwater operations.
* Assist marine operations if necessary.
* Provide construction reports at the end of each shift.
* Assist the Vessel Field Engineer with equipment and consumable follow-up, and monitor project equipment.
* Ensure rigging gear is within date and properly marked.
* Report to the Offshore Construction Manager.
Qualifications
* Minimum 4 years of experience as a 1st assistant or similar role.
* Technical diploma or background in civil, mechanical, electrical, or naval engineering.
* European nationality preferred due to visa requirements.
* 6-7 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
