Job Description
The role of Chinese Chef supports the Executive Chef Team and has a primary responsibility for overseeing and supervising production of Chinese cuisine for DO & CO. You will work hard to promote the company’s culture, mission, and values. You will act as a team leader and motivator for the whole team using interpersonal skills and be a clear communicator. You will be responsible for supervising, training, evaluating, coaching, and counselling the team ensuring compliance with company standards.
1. Working closely with the Executive Chef team to ensure that consistent quality products are produced following all DO & CO standards as well designing, developing, and presenting new menu designs as per the customers’ needs in Chinese cuisine
2. Day to day managing and supporting of the Kitchen team
3. Instilling a culture of job pride and ownership and motivate the team to have the ability to adapt to stressful situations and deal with any emergencies or last-minute changes to production
4. Planning production to the daily schedule and ensuring the exceptional DO & CO quality is maintained at its highest level with maximum efficiency in accordance with DO & CO regulations as set by the Quality Assurance team
5. Establishing production of Chinese cuisine recipes that align with the set pricing structure and customer budget as well as controlling food costs
6. Ensuring operations adhere to all SOP’s and ALL relevant Critical Control Points, Health and Safety, Food safety and all legal requirements
7. Constantly performing quality control checks to ensure specifications are met on raw materials and finished products
8. Maintaining good working relationships with all DO & CO family members as well as our partners, vendors, and other stakeholders
Qualifications
9. You will have a passion for cooking authentic Chinese cuisine
10. Previous experience as a Specialist Chinese Chef
11. passion for food and working with fresh and high-quality ingredients. An excellent leader with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
12. Well presented, professional individual with a can-do, positive attitude that indulges in team success
13. The ability to be a positive change champion for DO & CO, identifying key impact areas and priorities and supporting change programmes and strategies to gain optimal results
14. You are a clear and engaging communicator, strong written and verbal English, and will use a variety of methods to keep the team well informed
15. Previous experience in a similar role, or a high-end fresh food industry related sector
