Job Title: Finance Reporting Analyst Location: Birmingham (Hybrid fortnightly meetings in Birmingham office) Contract: 6-month FTC, Full-time Salary: Up to £60,000 (pro rata) We are seeking a Finance Reporting Analyst to play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, insight, and value of financial reporting across the organisation. This is a highly analytical position, offering the opportunity to combine technical accounting knowledge with strong data analysis skills to support operational performance, commercial decision-making, and strategic planning. The Role As Finance Reporting Analyst, you will: Take ownership of accrual balances within Billable Works schedules, ensuring they are correctly stated and aligned with business activities. Prepare monthly reports and analysis to provide senior stakeholders with reliable management information that supports fast and effective decision-making. Build a detailed understanding of operational processes and how they translate into financial records, taking responsibility for a defined portfolio within management accounts. Interrogate data from SAP, Maximo, and supplier systems to analyse balances, identify causation, and develop KPIs and management reporting tools. Highlight risks, opportunities, and profitability drivers by reviewing operational outcomes through financial performance. Partner with senior finance and commercial teams to ensure revenues and costs are accurately captured and reported. Contribute to strategic initiatives, including projects, bids, change programmes, and statutory account preparation/review. Act as a proactive member of the Operations Directors senior team, attending meetings, building relationships across departments, and providing ad hoc analysis to drive business evaluation and planning. What You'll Bring Proven data analysis experience within a finance environment. Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness. A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable but not essential. Confident application of IFRS principles. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, question, and challenge effectively. Strong Excel skills (essential). Experience with Power BI, SAP, or other reporting tools (advantageous).
