Fairburn View Primary School would like to appoint an Attendance Officer to enhance our existing pastoral and admin teams, to support some of our most vulnerable families. This is an excellent opportunity to join our team, and to support our pupils and families in consistently attending school. You will also play a vital role in working with the pastoral team and external agencies to develop provision for pupils who may find attending school challenging, particularly through EBSA. The successful candidate will work closely with the Assistant Head and EWO service to analyse attendance data, and plan effective support for families.
Fairburn View Primary School offers a warm, supportive and inclusive environment where the successful candidate can truly thrive, offering support to colleagues, developing leadership skills, and enhancing their own practice through CPD opportunities. We are committed to your professional development, offering regular training, mentoring and opportunities to grow within the role. In return for your passion and enthusiasm, we provide a well-resourced environment, with the opportunity to work collaboratively to develop the existing procedures we have in place.
We are looking for an Attendance Officer to work with the Admin and Pastoral Team, who will:
1. Have the ability to maintain high standards of ethics, behaviour and professional conduct.
2. Have experience in supporting pupils with EBSA.
3. Have experience in supporting hard to reach families.
4. Deal with matters as they arise or report them to the DSL/SLT.
5. Be aware of the need for good health, safety and welfare of the pupils, ensuring compliance and awareness.
6. Build constructive relationships and communicate well with parents and other agencies, to support achievement and progress of our pupils.
7. To take responsibility for half termly attendance reports for families, and half termly meetings including attendance plans where appropriate.
8. To take a lead in welfare checks, including home visits (2 staff member policy).
We can offer you:
9. A team who are committed to supporting each other and working together to address the challenges we face.
10. Enthusiastic, polite, and wonderful children who are keen to do well.
11. Support for your own professional development and career progression, with an opportunity to complete apprenticeships to enhance your skills, specialist knowledge and qualifications.
12. A happy and caring ethos in which all individuals are valued.
