Overview

Purpose of the Role: As a Treasury manager reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient cash management, foreign exchange risk management, and funding for the McLaren Racing Group. Your work will help maintain a robust control environment that minimizes financial and operational risk and supports fast decision making.

Role Dimensions: Based in Woking, you will lead monitoring of cash flows with a hands-on approach to mitigating risk and adding predictability to the business. You will build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and lead recommendations in line with company policies. The role offers access to internal learning programs and external providers to develop treasury expertise.

We are looking for someone with existing treasury knowledge who is eager to develop further.

We offer hybrid working with 3 days per week based at the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC). Our campus provides facilities including a gym, restaurant, break-out areas, and access to parkland. The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via shuttle buses, with London Waterloo a 30-minute train ride. Principal Accountabilities

Strategic Cash Management

* Oversee the weekly and monthly cash position, including variance analysis and review of treasury transactions, foreign exchange deals, and payment proposals across multiple accounts and entities.
* Develop and execute strategies for the efficient management and positioning of Racing bank accounts, including optimal use of foreign exchange swaps to concentrate cash or debt, minimising interest costs and maximising interest income.
* Lead the development and implementation of short and long-term liquidity strategies, aligning with organisational objectives, maximising returns on surplus funds, and protecting against volatility.

Risk Management & Hedging

* Proactively monitor and analyse foreign exchange and other financial risks, recommending and executing appropriate hedges in line with company policies.
* Review hedging commitments against company policies.
* Ensure timely and accurate foreign exchange settlements.

Reporting & Compliance

* Prepare and present comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly treasury management reports, including cash/debt positions and forecasts, to the CFO and senior leadership.
* Manage treasury reporting and analytics for internal stakeholders and external auditors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and internal controls.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with banking partners and other financial institutions, optimising services and negotiating favourable terms.
* Manage bank account administration, including updating bank mandates, assisting with KYC requirements, credit checks, and overseeing banking systems such as HSBCnet.
* Conduct regular analysis of bank charges and drive cost efficiencies.
* Drive the review and proposal of treasury technology functionality; lead projects to expand the use of treasury management systems for booking transactions and inputting trades.

Operational Excellence & Process Improvement

* Oversee FX rates files and ensure timely and accurate input of monthly rates.
* Lead continuous process improvement within treasury, leveraging automation and best practices to enhance efficiency and control.
* Prepare and submit required reports to banks for CFO review, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Manage weekly cash position, variance analysis, and review of treasury transactions across multiple accounts and entities.
* Support the FP&A team with forecast rates and review of forecasts against trends.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The post holder will have:

* A relevant professional accounting or treasury qualification (e.g., AMCT, ACCA).
* Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
