Optometry Clinical Tutor – Sessional
The post holder will provide clinical skills teaching support and assist with the delivery of the clinical skills modules within the optometry curriculum. The tutor supports students in their clinical skills training and provides supervision to volunteer patient clinic sessions.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver clinical skills teaching support for the optometry curriculum.
* Assist in the delivery of clinical skills modules.
* Supervise volunteer patient clinic sessions.
* Provide support and guidance to students during their clinical skills training.
Qualifications
* Registered GOC optometrist or dispensing optician.
* Passion for supporting the next generation of optometry trainees.
* Desirable: Experience working with early‑career optometrists.
* Enthusiasm for optometry education.
Other Information
Salary: Hourly rate based on the UHI grade 6 pay scale.
Working hours: Minimum of 3 sessions per semester, up to 4 hours per session. Sessions can be scheduled 9 a.m.–1 p.m. or 1 p.m.–5 p.m.
Location: UHI House, Inverness.
Contract type: Sessional part‑time with a minimum commitment of 3 sessions per semester. The successful candidate will devote the whole of their time to the duties of the post; outside paid work may only be undertaken with permission of the Principal and Vice‑Chancellor.
