Job Description
We invite you to join the award-winning team at Ocean Adventurers in Cheddar as our General Manager.
Ocean Adventurers, a proud member of the Family Adventures Group, is a cutting‑edge children's indoor play centre, offering a unique experience that cannot be matched.
The role
As the General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in upholding our operational values: Cleanliness, Customer Excellence, and Learning and Development. Your key responsibilities include:
Skills
* Leading by example. Championing a culture of customer excellence and satisfaction.
* An eye for detail. Ensuring the centre meets and exceeds our cleanliness audit standards.
* Generating a fun environment to work in. Implementing learning and development initiatives for your team.
Responsibilities
* Oversee daily operations, including staff management, customer service, and financial performance of the centre.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
* Recruit, train, and supervise staff members to maintain a high level of customer service.
* Handle customer queries and complaints in a professional and efficient manner.
Requirements
Proven experience in managerial roles, particularly within the hospitality, leisure or entertainment sector is a must, and you must be able to demonstrate:
* Your commitment to operational values.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Experience in achieving and maintaining quality operational standards.
Our core business is weekends and school holidays, with our standard opening hours between 08:30 am and 06:00 pm. Regular monthly adult‑only events may run until 11 pm and require flexibility. As with most indoor play centres our busiest times come at weekends and school holidays, so the successful candidate must be able to work these.
We offer a 40‑hour per week contract.
