Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Sommelier to enhance our dining experience. Responsibilities
* Curate and maintain an extensive wine list, ensuring variety and quality.
* Assist guests in selecting wines that complement their meals and preferences.
* Provide expert advice on wine pairings, tasting notes, and wine regions.
* Serve wines professionally, ensuring proper presentation and pouring techniques.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff on food preparation and menu development when required.
* Uphold food safety standards in all aspects of beverage handling and service.
* Support catering events by providing specialised wine service for large groups or private functions.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the wine cellar and service areas.
* Stay informed on current trends in the hospitality industry, including new wines and service techniques.
Skills
* Proven experience in restaurant service, catering, or hospitality roles.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Strong understanding of wine varieties, regions, and pairing principles.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage guests professionally.
* Barista experience or background in food preparation is advantageous but not essential.
* Experience in serving or hospitality roles that demonstrate a high level of customer care.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
