Job Role:
Reporting to the Group Logistics and Distribution Manager (GLDM) the successful applicant will be preparing delivery notes and driver run sheets by processing requests and supply orders from customers as directed. This will involve extensive use of IT packages to produce driver documentation so MS Word, Excel and e-mail experience is vital. The candidate must be able to identify and report discrepancies both in a written and verbal format to the Transport and Warehouse team therefore numeracy and literacy skills are essential for this role. The candidate will have the ability to communicate with customers to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved at all times. The successful applicant will contribute at all times ensuring a team effort is achieved by applying a "can do" attitude to the working environment. Variations to the role will be as required to meet the needs of the business and our customers as instructed by the GLDM.
Key Responsibilities:
· To complete all paperwork promptly and accurately as directed by the GLDM / Planners and in accordance with Legislation.
· Report to the GLDM/ Planners any issues surrounding the transport administrative function.
· Comply with all Health & Safety requirements in our depot as directed by the senior management team
· To take ownership of the administrative function throughout the transport operational process
· Discuss and improve current administrative processes with the GLDM and planners and action accordingly when approved
· Respond to customer Requests immediately and advise the GLDM should any delays or issues surrounding a customer request be found.
· To take ownership of their own personal development actively looking to increase their knowledge base and experience at all times by working in extended departments as required
Specific Requirements:
· Previous experience of working in an administrative role
· Must be fully IT conversant with packages such as MS Word / Excel and e-mail.
· Good communicator within a team based environment
· Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision
· Attention to detail is paramount
· Numeracy and Literacy skills are essential
Advantageous:
· Understanding of transport legal compliance records such as tachograph records, Working Time Directive would be advantageous.
· Previous experience of working in an administrative role within a Transport / Forwarding Environment would be advantageous
