About the Role We are recruiting for a Town Warden in the Dartford area to support local environmental enforcement and community safety initiatives. This is a frontline, customer-facing role where you will patrol public areas, respond to anti-social behaviour, and take action against environmental offences. You will also act as a visible presence to deter crime and support the local community. Key Responsibilities • Conduct foot patrols across public areas and town centre locations • Identify environmental offences such as littering and fly-tipping • Issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) using handheld devices or manual systems • Gather and record evidence to support enforcement and potential prosecutions • Maintain accurate records and reports of daily activities • Attend court and support legal proceedings when required • Respond to shop theft and anti-social behaviour to deter crime • Work in partnership with the Local Authority and other stakeholders What We’re Looking For • Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence • Full 5-year checkable work history • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Confident, professional, and approachable manner • Good attention to detail and sound judgement • Ability to remain calm in challenging situations • Flexible and adaptable approach to working outdoors in all conditions • Previous enforcement or security experience desirable but not essential Training & Development You will attend a structured training course covering: • Environmental legislation (including Environmental Protection Act 1990) • Anti-social behaviour enforcement • Communication and conflict management skills • Daily duties and use of equipment This includes gaining a recognised qualification in environmental awareness.
