Maintenance engineer
Location: Brighton
Salary: £23.60 per hour
40 hours per week Monday to Friday
We are hiring a skilled Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a leading food manufacturer in Brighton. If you have strong mechanical and electrical expertise and are looking for a temp to perm role in a fast-paced environment, this opportunity could be ideal.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintain and repair factory equipment (60% mechanical, 40% electrical).
2. Diagnose and resolve faults to minimize downtime.
3. Perform preventative maintenance to optimize efficiency.
4. Support food safety and product quality standards.
5. Work closely with the Senior Engineer to improve processes.
Skills & Experience
6. Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
7. Experience with food production machinery, including conveyors, mixers, fillers, and checkweighers.
8. Basic welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
9. Minimum of 10 years’ experience, preferably in food manufacturing or pharmaceuticals.
