Role: Bid and Tender account and partnership manager

Salary: £45–60k + very generous bonus 10-15k
Working Pattern: 4 days onsite, Fridays WFH
This is a very new role for the growing company based in Bristol and those in the Defence sector will understand the term "campaign manager" when it comes to bid proposals and building a campaign so the end client can see the value.
This role sits between the Business Development Team and the Bids and Tenders team and your role is to work alongside the Business Development Manager and wider BD team to actively pursue and keep up the momentum of new opportunities, so you must be personable, commercially minded, and comfortable in a sales‑driven environment.
The ideal candidate will come from a Defence sector background and bring an entrepreneurial mindset however if you don't have the defence background but these skills we would love to see your CV!

You will be responsible for developing and executing strategic campaigns to secure new business opportunities and expand existing customer programmes. The role focuses on positioning the organisation for success across multiple related opportunities, ensuring alignment between business development, capture, and bid activities.
The Campaign Manager will coordinate internal teams, build strong customer relationships, and drive long‑term strategies that maximise win probability and revenue growth.
The role will report to the Head of Business Growth and will involve regular UK and occasional international travel to support customer engagement, partner collaboration, and industry events.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute strategic campaigns to drive success across Defence and commercial opportunities.
* Identify, qualify, and prioritise opportunities in line with the company’s growth strategy.
* Support the development of win strategies, value propositions, and customer engagement plans.
* Provide guidance on opportunity shaping, competitive positioning, and campaign direction.
* Manage opportunity timelines, ensuring alignment with procurement schedules, internal governance, and overall company objectives.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
* Translate customer requirements, challenges, and strategic priorities into actionable campaign plans.
* Represent the organisation at customer meetings, supplier engagements, and industry events.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
* Collaborate with business development, bid, and operational teams to align campaign activities.
* Ensure internal teams are prepared and resourced to pursue upcoming opportunities.
* Support the Head of Business Growth with initiatives contributing to campaign objectives and strategic growth.
* Support the preparation and coordination of tender submissions with bid teams and subject‑matter experts.
* Develop and maintain tender schedules, ensuring progress aligns with procurement timelines and submission milestones.
* Lead regular tender and campaign progress reviews, ensuring transparency and adherence to best‑practice bid management processes.
Reporting & Governance
* Maintain accurate opportunity and campaign records within CRM and pipeline management systems.
* Provide regular updates to senior leadership on campaign performance, pipeline development, and key opportunity milestones.
* Ensure all campaign activities comply with company governance and procurement procedures.

Professional Skills & Abilities
* Proven experience in business development, campaign management, or strategic sales within a complex or defence‑focused environment.
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
* Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
* Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams across business development, operations, and leadership.
* Knowledge of bid and capture processes is desirable.
* Self‑motivated with a flexible approach to workload and priorities.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Project skills are desirable.
* Strong attention to detail.
Experience & Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
