Overview
We are looking to recruit a skilled tradesperson / Carpenter with a friendly and positive "can do" attitude. You will attend to carpentry repairs and PPM duties, identify problems and fix issues within NHS and Trust owned or run properties in the surrounding area. You will carry out varied carpentry duties to a competent standard, work in a team or standalone, and focus on a quality finish to meet high customer expectations. Work will be conducted in accordance with current legislation, British Standards Codes of Practice, safe systems of work and recognised industry standards to minimise damage to property and disruptions to patients and visitors. Responsibilities
* A Carpenter/Joiner will work on assignments appropriate to their core specialist skills and level of qualification.
* Perform routine and non-routine, non-complex and complex repairs and routine planned maintenance as directed by management.
* Ensure compliance with Trust safety standards and procedures.
* Take all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
* Carry out additional work involving glazing, locksmithing, scaffolding and wood machinery as required.
* Use complex carpentry equipment and machinery in accordance with legislative and statutory guidance.
* Carry out new work, installation and refurbishment across the Trust.
* Carry out glazing repairs as required and installation/repair of metal and fibre ceilings.
* Communicate with Ward Managers, department managers, patients, visitors and other Trust staff.
Qualifications
Essential
* City and Guilds Craft Certificate
* Apprenticeship or other recognised and approved training
* NVQ Level II equivalent experience
Desirable
* City and Guilds Advanced Craft
Experience

* Relevant post-qualification experience

* Experience of maintenance carpentry
* Experience of working in a similar environment
* Woodworking machinery
