A leading private markets firm is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its London-based legal team. The firm advises fund managers and institutional investors across private capital, with offices worldwide.
Role Summary
The position supports multiple business lines and reports to the General Counsel. The role involves providing commercially focused legal advice, managing client mandates, and contributing to internal projects and business development.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise on legal aspects of primary, secondary, and GP capital advisory engagements.
* Draft, negotiate, and approve engagement letters and related documentation.
* Support structuring and transactional documentation, particularly for secondary transactions.
* Identify and implement legal tech solutions for efficiency.
* Deliver internal training and best practice initiatives.
* Assist with group structure and governance matters.
Candidate Profile
* circa 8-12 years' PQE in a private funds focused role.
* Preference for individuals who trained at a leading US or UK law firm, and qualified into a highly ranked investment funds department.
* Subsequent in-house experience in a private funds related role (either permanent or via a secondment) would be advantageous but is not mandatory
* Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage complex mandates.
