Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor – East London
A major main contractor is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience delivering complex residential developments to join them on a large and technically challenging scheme in East London. The successful individual will take commercial responsibility for a significant section of the project and work closely with the wider project and commercial teams to ensure the successful delivery of the development. Ideally the individual will have experience working for a main contractor on large-scale residential projects and demonstrate longevity in previous positions.
Responsibilities
* Act as commercial lead for a major project section: Take full commercial responsibility for a section of the development valued at approximately £50m, managing costs, subcontractor packages, and financial reporting to ensure the project is delivered within budget.
* Manage subcontractor procurement and commercial processes: Oversee the preparation of tender documentation, review and negotiate subcontractor packages, manage valuations, variations, and final accounts while maintaining strong relationships with the supply chain.
* Ensure financial control and reporting: Work closely with the commercial director and project team to produce accurate cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections, identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
* Previous / recent experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on residential construction projects
* Previous positions working for a main contractor
* Experience managing significant subcontractor packages and leading the commercial function on major project sections
* Longevity of previous positions and a desire to go the distance in a new position
