This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated doctor to join the General Internal Medicine (GIM) team at St Peters Hospital. The post holder will be an integral part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high‑quality care to acutely unwell medical patients.
Responsibilities
* Daily clinical assessment and management of medical inpatients with active participation in consultant‑led ward rounds.
* Participation in the General Medicine full‑shift on‑call rota, including evenings, nights and weekends, providing 24/7 acute medical service.
* Initial assessment and stabilisation of acutely unwell patients and timely referral or escalation to specialist services.
* Engagement in audit, quality improvement initiatives and adherence to Trust guidelines and national standards.
* Maintenance of high standards of documentation and safe hand‑over practices.
* Supervision of foundation doctors and support for nursing and allied health staff, with teaching, mentoring and sharing clinical knowledge.
* Attendance at educational sessions and engagement in personal professional development.
* Active participation in departmental meetings, staff forums and Trust initiatives to enhance care delivery.
