MDE is currently seeking a dynamic Assistant Grid Connections Engineer to join a leading developer specialising in the delivery of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the UK, USA, and Australia.
The Assistant Grid Connections Engineer will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of grid connection projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices. Assist in the planning, design, and implementation of grid connection projects for renewable energy installations.
Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Assist in coordinating grid connection activities with contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
Conduct technical analyses and simulations to assess the impact of grid connection on system performance and reliability.
Participate in on-site inspections, commissioning activities, and testing of grid-connected equipment and systems.
Provide technical support and assistance to project managers, engineers, and other team members as needed.
Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to grid connections.
Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Proficiency in relevant software tools, such as AutoCAD, PSS/E, and MATLAB, is desirable.
Familiarity with grid codes, standards, and regulations governing grid connection projects.
