<div><p>Little Giggles is looking for a caring, motivated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Level 3 Childcare Apprentice. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and ready to develop their skills, knowledge and confidence within a supportive nursery environment.</p><h3>Entry Requirements</h3><ul><li>Applicants must already be Level 2 qualified and looking to progress onto a Level 3 apprenticeship, or hold GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above, or the equivalent, to be able to enrol onto the Level 3 course.</li></ul><h3>Apprenticeship Summary</h3><ul><li><b>Working week:</b> Monday to Friday, between 7.30am and 6.00pm</li><li><b>Hours:</b> 43.75 hours per week</li><li><b>Working hours:</b> To be discussed at interview</li><li><b>Expected duration:</b> 12 months</li><li><b>Apprenticeship level:</b> Level 3</li></ul><h3>Childcare and Education Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children.</li><li>Ensure the nursery environment, resources and experiences offered to children are of the highest standard.</li><li>Support planning for the EYFS and help provide rich and diverse outdoor play experiences.</li><li>Follow daily planning and ensure this is kept up to date.</li><li>Maintain accurate and effective children’s records.</li><li>Promote and support positive partnerships with parents, carers and family members.</li><li>Help ensure the induction process for new children is effective and adapted to suit each child and family.</li><li>Support good practice in relation to special educational needs and inclusion.</li><li>Ensure children are kept safe and that you understand and follow child protection procedures.</li><li>Support children’s nutritional needs and comply with Food Safety Regulations.</li><li>Follow key person procedures and build positive relationships with children and their families.</li><li>Support smooth transitions for children moving to the next room, involving parents and carers in the process.</li><li>Encourage children to spend as much time as possible outside in the fresh air.</li><li>Keep up to date with current developments in childcare and education policy and practice.</li><li>Implement activities that help close gaps in children’s learning, using their tracking information.</li></ul><h3>Health and Safety Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Share responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery.</li><li>Ensure children’s general cleanliness is maintained at all times.</li><li>Follow Health and Safety policies, manage risk and take immediate action where needed.</li><li>Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures, including fire precautions, security, and the safe dropping off and collection of children.</li><li>Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness, particularly in bedding, nappy changing areas and food preparation surfaces.</li><li>Assist in keeping the nursery buildings, resources and equipment to a high standard.</li><li>Report maintenance or cleaning issues appropriately and promptly.</li></ul><h3>Operational Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Promote the nursery positively to current parents and potential customers.</li><li>Support the room leader, manager and staff during regulatory inspections.</li><li>Assist with the implementation of any recommendations following inspections.</li><li>Reflect on your own role and practice to support continuous self-improvement.</li></ul><h3>Working as Part of the Team</h3><ul><li>Support assistants and students with their day-to-day duties.</li><li>Help ensure new staff have a meaningful induction.</li><li>Act as a positive role model, demonstrating good practice.</li><li>Motivate and inspire others within the staff team.</li><li>Support recruitment, team building and staff training where appropriate.</li><li>Use time effectively and demonstrate good time management.</li><li>Support and motivate staff to feel included, responsible and engaged as part of a strong team.</li></ul><h3>General Duties</h3><ul><li>Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by line management.</li><li>Be confident when dealing with parent concerns, seeking support from the room leader or management team when needed.</li><li>Make the room leader or management team aware of any concerns.</li><li>Follow all company policies and procedures.</li><li>Be prepared to undertake additional training and qualifications.</li><li>Attend and take part in out-of-hours activities when required, such as training, parents’ meetings, open days, children’s Christmas parties and staff meetings.</li><li>Undertake appropriate domestic duties within the nursery, such as preparing snacks, cleaning equipment and supporting the smooth running of the room.</li><li>Take an active role in supervisions and appraisals.</li><li>Work towards and achieve targets set during supervisions and appraisals.</li><li>Work positively as part of a team.</li><li>Support the nursery as a whole while continuing to develop your own skills.</li></ul><h3>Desired Skills</h3><ul><li>Computer literate</li><li>Good communication equivalent</li><li>Level 2 childcare qualification, if progressing onto a Level 3 apprenticeship route</li></ul><h3>Future Prospects</h3><p>There may be the possibility of a full-time role on successful completion of the apprenticeship.</p><h3>Things to Consider</h3><p>This is an active role. Manual handling is required throughout the day, and all team members are expected to help maintain high standards of cleanliness across the nursery setting. Outdoor learning takes place daily, so applicants should be prepared to support children’s play and learning outside in all suitable weather conditions.</p></div>
