What does the role involve?
We are looking for a motivated and experienced Restaurant Assistant Manager to support the overall operations of our restaurant. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure high standards of customer service, efficient operations, and staff performance. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a passion for hospitality.
Responsibilities
* Manage daily overall planning and operations of the front and back of house teams, ensuring all company policies and regulations are met.
* Assist with managing the restaurant's good image and suggest ways to improve it.
* Deliver superior service and maximise customer satisfaction.
* Respond efficiently and professionally to customer feedback.
* Maintain quality control for all food and drinks served.
* Maintain inventory, order supplies and monitor stock levels.
* Assist with budgeting, cost control and revenue tracking.
* Prepare reports on sales, labour and customer feedback for the Restaurant Manager.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation standards.
* Supervise and motivate the team including recruiting, training, scheduling and performance evaluations.
What skills and experience do you need?
* Proven experience in a restaurant management or supervisory role (2-5 years experience preferred).
* Experience of restaurant operations including inventory, POS systems and staff scheduling.
* Experience with budgeting and cost control would be preferred.
* Good understanding of food preparation, production and allergens.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations. Certifications/qualifications would be desirable but not essential.
* Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail.
* Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Contract: This is a permanent, full-time role.
Salary: From £31,826 to £34,785 per annum (depending on experience).
Hours: 40 hour week to include some weekend work.
