What you'll do:
* Working with the Mechanical side of the Engineering Department, with a strong focus on quality to ensure reliability and longevity of maintenance activities. With an prime focus on excellent safety practices to meet and exceed current legislation and best practice guidelines.
* Perform all maintenance activities within your capabilities associated with all areas of the Shotton Mill site, including paper machines, winders, stock preparation plant, effluent treatment, biomass boilers and CHP. Also including all facilities and services.
* Provide support to the wider maintenance team and undertake some basic maintenance fitting activities alongside the technicians.
* Provide efficient and effective response to breakdowns which have an immediate effect on plant and person safety, environmental release, or plant performance.
* Provide support with regular preventative maintenance routines, scheduled maintenance tasks and the repair of critical and non-critical spare parts.
* Be part of the site expert team for welding and fabrication, completing the necessary improvement and corrective tasks to a high standard, whilst ensuring safety is paramount at all the time.
* Responsible for the housekeeping of the welding workshop and all welding and fabrication equipment, ensuring a 5S standard at all times and all equipment is in good, safe working order.
* Be involved in and action and workshop improvement initiatives.
* Assisting in reporting and analytics, to ensure reliability and continuous improvement.
What you'll bring:
* Extensive experience of MIG/TIG welding with the ability to evidence this.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings effectively.
* Fabrication experience and the ability to use a range of fabrication machines and techniques.
* Experience of the manufacturing industry and other engineering machinery.
* Being a Self-starter and hard working with the ability to work as a team player and grow with the Business
* Ability to work in a changing environment with a flexible approach.
* Good knowledge and understanding of health and safety
