Job summary – What to expect:
As a Level 1 Warehouse Operator in our UK Distribution department, you will carry out basic processes, such as Picking, Packstation Scanning and Cycle Counting, amongst other processes, in accordance with company procedures, work instructions and systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Working on a few basic processes, such as Picking, Packstation Scanning, Pre-Sort, Machine Over Labelling, Fitting Set Production, Receiving, Put Away, Replenishment, Assisting Re-Work and Cycle Counting.
2. Complying with health and safety regulations including the safe use of equipment (. machinery, lift truck, manual handling equipment) and general good housekeeping to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
3. Correctly applying the different company systems in a very specific defined area.
4. Suggesting small or limited continuous improvement initiatives where relevant.
5. Limited involvement in investigating and resolving issues in an assigned area, communicating where necessary any relevant information to the Team Leader or Senior Operator to ensure minimum disruption and maximum service levels.
You will work under tight instructions and supervision of a trainer, a more senior operator or a supervisor.

This position does not require prior experience as DC operator or a detailed knowledge of processes (however, a basic knowledge of a limited set of processes can be useful but not essential).
Work Environment:
10. The post holders working environment is a large open plan warehouse / factory building.
11. All necessary personal protective equipment must be worn along with the use of the correct manual handling equipment and operating techniques.
12. As well as some lifting the majority of products are transported throughout the building on movable cages which can also be heavy.
13. Lifting up to approx. 25 kg.
14. Working at heights required.
15. There is constant background noise from the operation of various machinery.
16. Temperatures in the warehouse fluctuate due to seasonal variations.
17. Periods of prolonged standing.
