Exciting opportunities are being developed for working within Moreton Ward. We would like to invite applications for this key educational role within Moreton Ward, with an emphasis on Respiratory Medicine.
The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills together with a positive attitude and a desire to promote clinical excellence.
You will work with other clinicians such as the Respiratory Specialist Nurses and the DAIRS team. The successful applicant will be a senior band 5/6 with experience in the speciality.
As an experience Registered Nurse you will be required to develop Respiratory Nursing by delivering an educational programme to all levels of staff to support health care assistants, student nurses, preceptees as well as those more experienced for their continuing development.
The post holder will have a desire to improve clinical practice, expertise and the patient experience.
Main duties of the job
* To support the Education, Learning and Development function within the specialty of Respiratory medicine, specifically Moreton Ward.
* Plan, design and deliver evidence-based training utilising a blended approach of classroom and practice-based strategies.
* Work collaboratively with the Matron & Senior Sister/ Charge Nurse to ensure the delivery of effective, high quality, safe patient centred care.

Education, Qualification and Training
Essential criteria
* Registered Nurse
* Recent evidence of CPD
* Qualified Practice Assessor
* Teaching Qualification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
* Minimum of 3 years recent experience working in an acute hospital setting with a understanding of acute medical pathways
* Evidence of specialty specific knowledge: ie respiratory medicine and management
* Experience of supporting learners in practice
* Experience of writing action plans for learners of staff who require additional support
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
* Evidence of ability to work as a proficient practitioner
* Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, patients, and the public.
* Effective time management.
* Understanding of clinical governance.
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of leadership and management skills or the ability to develop said skills
* Knowledge of clinical audit processes
* Ability to recognise the importance of research and quality improvement on patient care
* Ability to develop competency profiles
