The Role
As Director of Learning – Science, you will:
* Lead curriculum innovation and teaching excellence across KS3 and KS4
* Drive student progress and attainment in science
* Line manage and develop a team of passionate science educators
* Build links with feeder primary schools to ensure curriculum continuity
* Champion STEM enrichment through clubs, competitions, and outreach
* Contribute to whole-school leadership and strategic improvement
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (PGCE or equivalent)
* Proven success in raising achievement in secondary science
* Experience in middle or senior leadership
* Strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment, and data analysis
* Passion for inclusive education and community engagement
* Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
Desirable
* NPQML / NPQSL or Masters-level qualification
* Experience in more than one school, ideally one rated “Good” or better
* SENCO, DSL, or pastoral leadership experience
